Taking a break on a long journey by car is not only welcomed by most tourists but is essential for road safety. Motor way service areas have a duty of care to provide mobile consumers with excellent services thus ensuring that they return to the road refreshed and alert. This is not always the case, especially in the peak holiday seasons.
Only informed mobile consumers can choose not to stop at a poorly run MSA. Our MSA EuroTest, based on the needs of a family with two young children, does a regular spot check of about 70 MSA's located on Europe’s most important tourist highways over a major holiday weekend.
In every test conducted so far at least 30% of MSA's were not up to par. Most frequent deficiencies emerged in the areas of road safety, the welcome offered to families and hygiene.
